How do you remember to drink water at work?
Put one bottle of known size where you can see it, then tie each refill to something that already happens in your workday, not to willpower or an hourly alarm.
Arriving, the first meeting, lunch, the mid-afternoon slump and packing up happen every day whether you remember water or not. Hang your refills on those hooks and you stop relying on memory. A cue you already have beats a reminder you have to obey.
Honest limits first
- Dropkin does not decide how much you need. You set your own goal; it is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.
- The reminders are notifications. Phone on Do Not Disturb in a long meeting means no nudge, and that is on purpose.
- iPhone and Apple Watch only. No Android, no web version.
- Pro (monthly, annual or lifetime) adds worlds, styles and longer history. The water tracker itself is free.
A made-up Tuesday on the fourth floor
Picture a claims analyst with a 24 oz steel bottle. 8:40, she sits down and fills it at the kitchen on the way. 10:00, stand-up: she drinks while others talk. At 11:15 her watch taps once; she half-finishes and logs ½ from her wrist. Lunch, refill. 2:30 is the slump, and the bottle is right there, between the monitor and the mouse. At 4:45 she taps the pinned bottle one last time and the reminders stop for the day.
Nothing heroic happened. She never set an hourly alarm. She drank because the bottle sat in her eyeline and her day had five natural stops.

Plan your workday refill cues
Enter your hours and your bottle. We space the refills across your day and name each one after a moment most office days already have. Nothing is saved or sent.
This is a timing aid, not a target. The number of bottles is your choice; check with your clinician if you have a condition that affects fluids. This is general information, not medical advice. Talk to your clinician.
Water at work: questions
How can I remember to drink water at my desk?
Keep one bottle you know the size of in your line of sight, and tie refills to things that already happen at work: arriving, your first meeting, lunch, mid-afternoon, packing up. The planner on this page turns your hours into those cues.
How much water should I drink during an 8-hour workday?
There is no single number. Mayo Clinic (2026) says needs vary with health, age, activity, climate and weather, and the NHS (2023) gives 6 to 8 cups or glasses of fluid a day as a guide for the whole day, not just work hours. Choose a goal with your clinician if you have a condition that affects fluids.
Does coffee or tea at work count toward my water?
Yes. The NHS (2023) says tea and coffee count toward your daily fluid intake, along with water, lower-fat milk and lower-sugar drinks.
Will water reminders annoy me in meetings?
They can, which is why Dropkin only sends reminders during the hours you set, stays quiet when you're on pace, waits after each drink and stops when you hit your goal. You can pause them anytime.
Can I log water from my Apple Watch at work?
Yes. Dropkin's Apple Watch app shows today's progress with your pinned bottle as the big button, plus quick amounts and a Digital Crown custom amount. Drinks sync to your iPhone and are counted once.
Is Dropkin free?
The full water tracker is free: unlimited logging, saved vessels, reminders, Hydration Pace, widgets, Apple Watch, Shortcuts and 30-day history. Optional Pro adds all four worlds, extra styles and 90-day and full-year history.
Who this is not for
Jobs where phones stay in a locker. If you can't carry a phone or watch, a marked bottle with times drawn on it will do more than any app.
Anyone on a fluid restriction. If a clinician has given you a limit, follow it; a reminder app is the wrong tool.
People who want coaching. Dropkin is a tracker with polite reminders. It will not tell you what your body needs, and we built it that way on purpose: extra water past your goal earns nothing, so there is never a reason to overdo it.
